Domaine la Monardiere 2006 Vin de Pays de Vaucluse

This stellar rhone-style quaff may be labeled a vaucluse, but its a mini-vacqueyras for the discount yummage of a mere $14.99. its elegant palette is full with cocoa cherry and mushroom goodnesses that finishes sooo dry that it begs for more. classic.its hard not to finish this one in its entirety and should be so as the stock is limited for this round of vintage. Excellent with light vegetarian faire as well as the easier meaty dishes we whip everyday in our menu:

i enjoyed it with our lamb stew, made with local grassfed lamb from Loncito's Ranch in south Texas.

Domaine des Aubuisieres 2007 Vouvray Cuvee de Silex

Fantastic bright acidic palette with a long slightly oily finish. the body has a wonderful marzipan/almondy tone that explodes with toasty richness as it warms up. excellent with light spicy foods with cicken, pork and other vegetarian faire. $17.99 bargain on our shelves.

Balandran 2006 Costieres de Nimes Les Mugues

how wonderful to have such a member of rhone variete on our shelves. with distinct cocoa/cherry tones alongside the funk of french smoke meat and mushroom sveltness, this wine is a qualifiable palette party of 'i don't know what'. its dry at 13.5% and yet fruity in the front with a mid palette expansiveness that moves all the way back thru the finish of earth and deep funk aromas. good on its own, excellent with some big foods.
